Not sure how much you need? Describe the trip and we choose.
On mainland Chinese networks, Google (Maps, Gmail, Search), WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and many other foreign services are blocked. A local Chinese SIM or hotel Wi-Fi comes with the same blocks. Roaming on your UK or EU plan avoids them, but China is outside the EU roaming zone and the daily fees add up.
Every China plan we sell connects to a Chinese network, listed below, but sends your data out to the internet through Hong Kong or Singapore, according to the network data for each plan. Travellers usually find the apps they use at home keep working this way. We cannot guarantee it: the rules are set in China and can change without notice.
Nearly every China plan starts on your first connection in China, and your own SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts.
Why Aynet
We list every plan we sell for China with its real price, cheapest first, and the networks it uses. The routing is part of the plan, so there is nothing extra to set up on your phone.
Not sure which size fits? Describe the trip in one sentence and we recommend one plan. If you run low, top up the same eSIM from My eSIMs without a new QR code. If you never install it, you get your money back.
Payment is a one-off card payment through Stripe, and the QR code waits in My eSIMs and in your inbox. Questions go to support@aynet.ai.
The networks
Our plans for China run on these local networks. Your phone picks the strongest signal.

Good to know
- Blocked apps and routing
- Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube are blocked on Chinese networks. Our China plans route data through Hong Kong or Singapore, which usually keeps them reachable, but this is not guaranteed. Download offline maps and anything you need before you fly.
- Install at home, start in China
- Install the eSIM on Wi-Fi before you leave, because some app stores and sites may not load from China. Nearly every China plan starts on your first connection in China; a plan that starts on installation says so before you buy.
- Turn on data roaming
- Once you land, switch data roaming on for the Aynet line. It costs nothing extra: the plan is the price. Keep roaming off on your home SIM so it does not charge you.
- Hong Kong, Macao, Japan or Korea too?
- A China plan covers the mainland only, not Hong Kong or Macao. Our regional plans cover China with Hong Kong and Macao, or China with Japan and South Korea; describe the route and we compare.

Questions travellers ask
Do Google, WhatsApp and Instagram work with a China eSIM?
They are blocked on Chinese networks. Our China plans route your data through Hong Kong or Singapore, and travellers usually find these apps work that way. We cannot guarantee it, because the rules are set in China and can change without notice.
Do I need a VPN?
Our plans do not rely on one: the routing through Hong Kong or Singapore is built into the plan. Whether you use a VPN on top is your choice, and we do not give advice on it.
Does my EU or UK roaming work in China?
Not for free. China is outside the EU roaming zone, so most home plans charge a daily fee or per-MB rate there. A China eSIM gives you data at a fixed price instead.
Which network will I be on in China?
One of the Chinese networks listed on this page. Your phone picks the one with the best signal where you are and can switch as you move.
Does a China plan work in Hong Kong or Macao?
No, a China plan covers the mainland only. For a trip that includes Hong Kong or Macao, one of our regional plans covers all three.
When should I install the eSIM?
Before you fly, on Wi-Fi at home. Some downloads and app stores may not work from China. On nearly every China plan installing does not start the plan; the days start when your phone first connects in China.
Can I keep my own number?
Yes. The eSIM carries data only. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls, texts and bank verification codes.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if the eSIM has never been installed. Once it is installed on a phone it cannot be refunded, because the profile is tied to that device.
