Not sure how much you need? Describe the trip and we choose.

Egypt is outside the EU roaming zone, so a UK or EU SIM can turn a week of maps and messages into an expensive bill. A travel eSIM avoids that: you install a data plan on your phone before you leave, and it connects to an Egyptian network when you land.

Our Egypt plans run on the country's own mobile networks, listed below. Your phone picks the strongest one, with 5G where it has been built and 4G elsewhere. That covers ride-hailing from the airport, maps in Cairo's old streets, messages from a Nile cruise and photos from the Red Sea.

Almost every Egypt plan starts counting on your first connection in Egypt, not at purchase, so you can buy before the trip. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls and texts, and the plan is prepaid: when the data or the days run out, it simply stops.

Why Aynet

We list every plan we sell for Egypt with its real price, cheapest first, and the networks it uses. No per-GB maths and no daily fees on top.

Not sure which size you need? Describe the trip in one sentence and we recommend one plan. If you run low, top up the same eSIM from My eSIMs without a new QR code. If you never install it, you get your money back.

Payment is a one-off card payment through Stripe, and the QR code waits in My eSIMs as well as your inbox. Questions go to support@aynet.ai.

The networks

Our plans for Egypt run on these local networks. Your phone picks the strongest signal.

  • Orange Egypt5G where built
  • Etisalat (e&)5G where built
  • Vodafone Egypt5G where built

Good to know

Turn on data roaming
Once you land, switch data roaming on for the Aynet line. It costs nothing extra: the plan is the price. Keep roaming off on your home SIM so it does not charge you.
When the plan starts
Most Egypt plans start on your first connection in Egypt. A few start on installation, and each says so before you buy. An unstarted plan shows its install-by date in My eSIMs.
Desert and river
Coverage is strong in the cities and resorts and thinner in the open desert and on remote stretches of the Nile, as it is for every network there. Download offline maps before long excursions.
More than one country?
Egypt is also part of our regional plans. For Egypt alone, an Egypt plan is usually the better value; for several stops, describe the route and we compare.

Questions travellers ask

Does my EU or UK roaming work in Egypt?

Not for free. Egypt is outside the EU roaming zone, so most home plans charge a daily or per-MB fee there. An Egypt eSIM gives you local data at a fixed price instead.

Which network will I be on in Egypt?

One of the Egyptian networks listed on this page. Your phone picks the one with the best signal where you are and can switch as you move.

Will it work in Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh and Luxor?

Yes. The resort towns and the cities along the Nile are well covered. Signal gets weaker in the open desert, so plan offline maps for day trips.

How much data do I need for a week in Egypt?

For maps, messages, ride-hailing and some social media, 3 to 5 GB covers most week-long trips. Video calls and streaming need more. Or describe your trip and we recommend one plan.

When should I install the eSIM?

Before you fly, on Wi-Fi at home. On almost all Egypt plans the days only start when your phone first connects in Egypt.

Can I keep my own number?

Yes. The eSIM carries data only. Your own SIM stays in the phone for calls, texts and bank verification codes.

What if I run out of data?

Top up the same eSIM from My eSIMs while the plan is running. No new QR code, and the price is shown before you pay.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if the eSIM has never been installed. Once it is installed on a phone it cannot be refunded, because the profile is tied to that device.
